One tablespoon of water can produce hundreds of mosquitos every week!
In order to reduce mosquito populations around your home you will want to remove or manage all sources of standing water. Here are a few ways you can be proactive around your home:
Identify, drain, and cover any container holding standing water around your home. This can include containers such as:
- Buckets
- Flower pots
- Pet water bowls
- Tires
- Bird baths
- Children’s toys
- Open trash bins
- Uncovered boats or other equipment
Clean clogged drains or roof gutters
Fill tree holes with sand or mortar
Maintain conscious irrigation practices
Drain, treat, or report unmaintained swimming pools
Manage excess vegetation
Treat large water sources such as water troughs or small ponds with Mosquitofish
Fix all leaky hoses or pipes
Change water in the indoor flower vase’s frequently
